Biography
As a young ambassador, glass artist Joshua Mest was exposed to glass blowing at an early age after visiting the Island of Murano Italy. Influenced by the Venetian masters, Mest returned to the United States and took his first glass class. He continued his studies at Kent State University and shortly after began blowing glass and teaching lessons professionally. Often influenced by his current environment, Mest uses a variety of techniques to encapsulate the visual stimuli of his surroundings. His latest pieces revolve around an aquatic theme after working in a gallery on the peninsula of Marblehead, Ohio. Although his artwork is not limited to any one style, Mest still loves to incorporate Venetian cane and murrini into many of his works.
